Stoney Castle, Pirbright:

 

From Bisley Camp (National Shooting Centre)

Turn right out the Main Gate at Bisley Camp, turn left at Pirbright Barracks up over the canal, then round the traffic triangle to go straight through the narrow railway arch. Straight on over the brow of the hill to the traffic lights at Pirbright Village. Sharp right into School Lane, follow that round for 2km, look out for the range entrance on the left hand side.

 

From Worplesdon / Aldershot Direction

Go through Pirbirght Village on the A234/Guildford Road toward Bisley Camp. Approximately 0.5Km past the White Hart pub you will get to a set of traffic lights.  Turn left into School Lane and follow the road for about 2km, look out for the range entrance on the left hand side.

 

Parking

Please be aware that the car park is very near the road and will be locked until we gain access to the range.  There is very limited space for vehicles until the car park is open so please be careful and considerate to other road users if you arrive early and find the gate locked.

As the car park is very near the road and some distance from the firing points you are strongly advised not to leave any shooting gear in your car.

Course of Fire

We will be practicing the Methuen / Short Range Rural Contact Match with an emphasis on the positional stages (including the run-down for those that want to do it).  Distance:  300x to 100x.  Please be aware that you will only have 2 sighters at 300x.  This is all you get in the match and it is worth learning how to get the most from them !
