The London Practical Shooting Club 'A' team has successfully retained the Mauser Trophy with an aggregate score of 1377 from second placed Highpower Rifle Association team 'A'
Martin Camp shooting for the LPSC 'A' Team won the 'Methuen Kukri' for the highest individual score of the day with an outstanding 242 ex 250.
LPSC 'C' Team took 3rd place with 1257 and the LPSC 'B' Team 4th place with 1249. Scores were higher than last year, proving that all the practice is paying off
Congratulations to the 'wooden rifles' Lee Enfield Rifle Association team 'A' who won the Mons Trophy with a score of 747
The NRA Civilian Methuen is a 'Blue Riband' event in the Practical Rifle / Service Rifle calendar where teams of six plus a non-shooting captain compete for the prestigious Mauser Trophy in 'open' class and the equally magnificent 'Mons' trophy in 'Historic' class
The Methuen Match is very challenging as only 2 sighters are allowed at the start of the day at 300yds and the 5 practices are shot over distances of 300, 200 and 100yds mostly at 'snap' targets that are exposed for between 3 and 5 seconds. The 'Run Down' practice is particularly testing as it is shot from prone, sitting and standing positions over all 3 distances. To make this practice even more interesting shooters have only 30 seconds to advance (ie run!) to the next distance and get into position
LPSC wishes to thank the NRA, organisors, range officials, butt markers and all competitors for another great day
